In 2012, I obtained my Cosmetology license and primarily focused my area of expertise on Nail Enhancements and Nail Art. I worked at The Matrix Spa in Wareham, MA where I learned techniques in applying acrylic and gel nail enhancements. My artistic abilities made me a popular technician in the area when it came to nail art. I was known for not only my designs, but the fact that I used CND Shellac, glitters, foils and other embellishments to create a custom and personalized wearable statement. You can find My Nail Art gallery under the portfolio section in the menu bar.

In 2015, I gave birth to my son, Bennett. Overtime, becoming a mother forced me to become savvier with my skills. I learned to think outside of the box more often and I started the search on how to get the most of my money. It started with decluttering my life, because as a new mother, sometimes life can feel like a tornado. I started to go through the copious amounts of clothing that had accumulated over the years and planned on donating them, until I discovered Poshmark on January 31st, 2017.

Poshmark is a place where you can post photos of your clothing (and now home decor items!) items with a description and set a price to sell them! I was surely skeptical, but as a new mother I knew I could use this kind of a side hustle. I joined in, snapped some photos, and set my price for $8.

I got my first sale February 19th, 2017. Not even a month after I had joined! It was a Johnny Cash Tank top I had for years but never worn, so the $8 was a total profit on my end. I added a few more listings but soon forgot about the app as life got busy once again.

August 2019, I rediscovered Poshmark and this time around, I was determined to put my all into it. I did some research on brands, other user strategies and how the app worked. I learned that my fellow Poshers turned to thrifting and reselling to keep their profits maxed. They also resorted to yard sales and hand-me-downs. I wanted to see the hype for myself so I went to my first thrift store, and from there, I discovered a new hobby!

As of late, I have almost 52k followers with $556.05 worth of listings sold, and a 5 star rating on my Poshmark store since 2019. I am a certified Poshmark Ambassador and I have recruited 8 people to join my team!

With this little side hustle started, I had accumulated many pairs of jeans via hand-me-downs and thifting. They were the least favorite of my collection because they were all the same. Different shades of hard blue fabric, all blending and blurring together. It was honestly an eyesore. I decided if I were going to post these jeans on my Poshmark, they needed to standout and be original to the mass sea of other users blah jeans.

This is where I had my “ah-ha” moment. I had the epiphany to paint the pockets on my jeans to differentiate between MY thrifted jeans and the others. I did this in hopes that the customized art I added would draw-in similar people with personalities such as myself.

I truly enjoy customization and personalization in fashion and home decor. I like knowing that I am the only one with a certain item because I MADE IT. I have been painting on canvases since I was a young girl. My grandfather was an art teacher in Lexington, MA and I had so much fun in his studio as a child. He taught me the techniques of watercolor and acrylics and I have been creating ever since. I enjoy painting canvases for interior design as well. You’ll find some of these listed on my website!
